Shipping

Shipping (UK only)

At the moment we can only ship within UK. 

Exports to Europe and most countries worldwide require phytosanitary certificates that are costly and time consuming to issue as they require physical checks and tests by UK governmental agencies. We will consider issuing them on case by case basis for larger shipments but unfortunately they will not be cost efficient for smaller orders.

In cold seasons (night temperatures below 10C) we only use next day delivery services such as:

  • Royal Mail Guaranteed, or
  • Hermes Next Day Delivery

In warm seasons we use 1-2 working days services such as:

  • Royal 1st class, or
  • Hermes Standard

We aim to ship plants within 3 working days after purchase but we might postpone shipping if temperatures drop below 5C in winter blizzards or above 30C in summer heatwaves. In such cases we will contact you and let you know.

Returns

Things happen. We will accept UK returns no questions asked if you let us know within 14 days of receiving the plant. In such case please post the plant back to us safely in the same packaging and we will issue a refund within 1-2 working days after receiving it. If the plant has been damaged due to our fault (e.g. overwatering before shipping), we will issue a full refund. If the plant is returned because it does not spark joy, we will refund the plant value but will ask the customer to cover the shipping journey.

In cases when the plant damage is 3rd party's fault, we will investigate and make a decision on case by case basis as we have no control over the parcels after we drop them off and we might or might not be able to claim compensation for the plant. 

If the parcel gets lost in shipping, in most cases we will be able to claim a refund from the shipping provider and, if successful, will pass their refund to you.

If the plant arrives damaged or in sad shape, we will investigate each case individually to understand what happened. If we failed to package well enough, we will replace or refund the item. If delivery took unreasonably long, we will try to claim compensation from the shipping provider, but we cannot guarantee it will be successful as shipping providers in general do not issue guarantees for perishable goods. This is something that is outside of our control.

Packaging

We care about the environment more than we care about the branding so all our packaging is either reused/recycled from other packages or 100% biodegradable. Most of our plants sit in PLA cups that biodegrade (not as fast as we wished but 100x faster than plastic) and you can expect to receive your plant in an odd groceries box that does the job without contributing to landfills. The rest of the packaging is just loads and loads of paper (newspapers, paper cups, paper tapes, etc.).
